JOB TITLE SUMMARY Job Title: Admissions Counselor, Online Students (Remote) Division: Enrollment and Marketing Evaluation Group: Staff Reports To: Director, Adult and Online Enrollment; Assistant Director, Adult and Online Enrollment Positions Supervised: N/A Job Summary The remote admissions counselor for online students proactively contacts and/or responds to inquiries from potential online students to discuss their educational goals and provide information about the benefits of attending Lindenwood University. This position recruits, onboards, and supports students from inquiry to enrollment and coordinates with Student Financial Services (SFS), Admissions, and Academic Affairs to ensure a streamlined and user-friendly process. The admissions counselor also delivers upon the University’s vision to be the next great learner-centric university by providing unparalleled service delivery. - Spends at least eighty percent (80%) of every shift interacting with a high volume of potential students, using telephone, text, email, video conferencing, etc.; follows applicable conversation guides to build relationships with students, help them realize their potential, and guide them to an enrollment decision
- Discovers students’ educational interests and searches applicable database(s) and other resources to provide them with personalized program offerings
- Identifies potential obstacles to a student’s ability to pursue their educational goals; addresses obstacles in an effort to ensure a positive and seamless student experience
- Responds to new inquiries within two minutes or less and moves students through the enrollment funnel within 48 hours
- Advises potential and/or current students regarding enrollment, transferability, and applicability of previously earned college credits, degree program options and requirements, cost of attendance, and University policies and procedures
- Makes admissions recommendations based on a holistic review of academic profile and extracurricular qualifications
- Represents University admissions at school visits, community events, college fairs, and all other recruitment initiatives
- Meets recruitment goals and adheres to departmental policies for student outreach
- Complies with federal, state, institution, and accreditation policies and procedures
- Maintains accurate records and data on applicants and admitted students
- Adheres to University policies regarding travel and procurement
