Job Description

As an Associate Commissioning Panel Chair (CPC) you will have already undertaken or will have the relevant experience to undertake the BP106 Technical and Process Building Blocks with aspirations to become a Commissioning Panel Chair. You will be willing to and have experience to undertake other relevant Project Support roles (PM, Planner, PD Rep etc.) to support your Commissioning Panel Chair journey.

Responsibilities

Commissioning Panel Responsibilities Chair commissioning panel meetings for non-complex schemes (Asset Replacements), subject to undertaking BP106 Technical and Process Building Blocks, ensuring compliance with BP106 requirements. Lead technical discussions and decision-making during commissioning working parties. Ensure all commissioning activities comply with National Grid Safety Rules, commissioning handbooks, company policies, and industry regulations. Assess and manage risks associated with commissioning activities. Confirm adherence to operational procedures, method statements, and risk assessments. Ensure that commissioning documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports and reviewed and approved. Verify that all pre-commissioning checks, system testing, and functional tests meet required standards. Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Managers, and National Grid representatives. Identify and address commissioning issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary. Ensure commissioning records, as-built documentation, and test results are accurately maintained. Approve and sign off final commissioning reports. Other Project Responsibilities Using existing project experience and qualifications, be willing to engage in project support and project management roles to support your commissioning panel authorisation journey.

Qualifications

Experience in working on high-voltage electrical projects within a transmission or distribution environment. A sound understanding of National Grid Business Procedures and Supplier Requirements Have already undertaken or will have the relevant experience to undertake the BP106 Technical and Process Building Blocks Strong understanding of National Grid procedures and project delivery through to commissioning. An organised individual with excellent communication and leadership skills. Coordinate multiple stakeholders, chair meetings and commissioning workshops, ensure accurate minutes and actions are taken. Location Home based, with the option of working from Omnia offices (Stafford, Stockton Heath, Northallerton), as per project requirements. Must be willing to travel throughout the UK to support project needs. Working Hours Ideally full time but willing to consider part time staff positions. Package, full time employee Competitive Salary, plus discretionary bonus Working hours of 40hours per week.
