Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateway Consultant (Remote)
job summary: We are seeking a senior-level Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateway Consultant to join our Custom Software Engineering team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in modernizing, securing, and maintaining enterprise API integration architectures. As part of our Application Managed Services group, your mission will be to safeguard critical digital connections, optimize traffic routing, and support developers utilizing our secure API platforms. location: Telecommute job type: Contract salary: $48.39 - 58.39 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced API security policies, assertions, and routing matrices using Broadcom Layer 7 Policy Manager.
- Oversee the onboarding and full lifecycle management of new APIs across the enterprise footprint.
- Monitor API traffic networks, audit security logs, and execute integrations with SIEM platforms for real-time threat response.
- Manage API gateway software upgrades, patch implementation, and capacity planning while collaborating with dev teams via the Developer Portal.
qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience engineering and configuring Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateways. Demonstrated mastery of gateway policy authoring, assertion configuration, routing logic, and the deployment of threat protection mechanisms. Educational background in Engineering or a highly technical, related discipline. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience deploying API gateways across multiple environments and form factors (including software on RHEL/CentOS, VMware virtual appliances, cloud infrastructure like AWS AMI, and containerized Docker environments). Functional understanding of network infrastructure and security topologies, specifically relating to DMZ architecture. Strong collaborative mindset with experience helping application developers ingest and consume enterprise APIs safely.
