The Prince George's County Office of Information Technology is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill an Executive Administrative Aide to the CIO (Executive Administrative Aide-G), grade G21 position in the Director's Office. This is highly responsible administrative and executive support work performed for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The incumbent serves as the principal administrative support employee for the CIO and performs complex, confidential, and sensitive administrative functions requiring independent judgment, discretion, and tact. Responsibilities include coordinating executive communications, managing calendars and schedules, preparing correspondence and briefing materials, coordinating meetings and special projects, monitoring assignments and action items, and serving as liaison between the CIO, executive leadership, County agencies, vendors, elected officials, and external stakeholders. Work is performed under the general supervision of the CIO and evaluated based on effectiveness, accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and achievement of operational objectives. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides support for all of the agencies, departments, and branches of County government. The OIT Service Desk provides information technology support and maintenance services to Prince George's County personnel. The Office of Information Technology is wholly dedicated to aligning technology efforts to support the strategic goals of the County. OIT will provide leadership, expertise, and resources in the ideation, development, and deployment of innovative technologies and streamlined processes to improve government efficiency, business interaction, and citizen access to government information and services.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications listed below to be eligible for additional consideration:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Secretarial Science.
- Three (3) years of senior level secretarial/administrative experience which involved working with the public, office management and operational details, and staff supervision OR at least one (1) year of previous experience at the Administrative Aide IV level.
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible executive-level administrative support experience, preferably supporting senior executives in a technology, government, or large organizational environment.
- Experience coordinating executive calendars, scheduling complex meetings, managing travel arrangements, and organizing high-level events involving multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience preparing executive correspondence, reports, presentations, briefing materials, agendas, and meeting minutes with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
- Experience handling confidential, sensitive, and personnel-related information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Knowledge of information technology concepts, terminology, and organizational structures sufficient to effectively support technology leadership and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and other business productivity tools.

- Pass an administered Administrative Aide exam. Applicants who have previously taken and passed the exam on or after 8/1/2024 will not be required to re-test. Previous passing test scores will be applied.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license.
- Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.
- Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties.
- Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings, etc.
- Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. This position is essential. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies.
