Fitness Instructor for Older Adults Aging is Cool About Aging is Cool Aging is Cool is an innovative wellness and enrichment company dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults through engaging programs that support physical health, cognitive vitality, and meaningful social connection. We provide classes and experiences for older adults in senior living communities, recreation centers, affordable housing communities, and other settings throughout multiple states. Our programs are designed to challenge outdated stereotypes about aging and help older adults continue learning, moving, creating, and thriving. Position Overview Aging is Cool is seeking compassionate, reliable, and engaging Fitness Instructors to lead group exercise classes for older adults in the Phoenix metro area. This role is ideal for instructors who enjoy building relationships, creating welcoming environments, and helping participants feel successful regardless of fitness level or physical limitations. We are currently seeking instructors for ongoing classes as well as substitute and backup coverage opportunities.
Responsibilities
Lead safe, engaging, and inclusive fitness classes for older adults Adapt movements for varying mobility and ability levels Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled classes Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere Communicate professionally with community staff and participants Maintain reliable attendance and communication with scheduling staff Follow Aging is Cool programming standards and safety guidelines Class Types May Include Chair Fitness Strength & Balance Stretch & Mobility Cardio Fitness Aquafit Dance Fitness Mind-Body Movement Walking Programs
Qualifications
Group fitness certification or relevant teaching experience preferred Experience working with older adults strongly preferred CPR certification preferred Reliable transportation required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, flexible, and professional demeanor What We’re Looking For We are especially interested in instructors who: Enjoy working with older adults Can create a warm and encouraging environment Are adaptable and solution-oriented Understand that consistency and reliability matter deeply to our participants Believe aging can be active, meaningful, and joyful Schedule Part-time, flexible scheduling available. Morning and daytime weekday availability preferred.
