Head of Interim Solutions – Office of the CFO Location: Greater New York or New England About the Firm Our client is a national human capital consulting firm with a strong reputation advising private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. The firm delivers high impact talent solutions across the Office of the CFO, partnering with leadership teams on both retained search and interim mandates. As part of its continued expansion, the firm is investing in building out its East Coast presence and is seeking a senior leader to establish and scale its Interim Solutions capability focused exclusively on the Office of the CFO. This role represents a key strategic hire, with a mandate to build a market leading interim platform supporting PE backed businesses through critical transformation cycles. The Opportunity The firm is seeking a Head of Interim Solutions for the CFO Practice to lead and grow a high margin, client facing interim business across the East Coast. This individual will operate as the commercial lead, driving revenue generation through the placement of interim CFOs and senior finance operators into private equity backed environments. The role is highly entrepreneurial, with an initial focus on origination, client penetration, and solution selling. Over time, the successful candidate will build out a dedicated team and infrastructure to support a scalable interim platform aligned with sponsor driven demand.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership and Revenue Generation

  • Originate and close interim mandates across the Office of the CFO, including CFO, VP Finance, Controller, FP&A, and transformation leadership roles
  • Partner directly with private equity firms and portfolio company executives to position interim talent as a strategic lever during value creation cycles
  • Drive a consultative sales approach focused on solving for liquidity events, carve outs, integrations, turnarounds, and finance transformation initiatives
  • Build a repeatable book of business within sponsor backed ecosystems and middle market platforms

Market Build and Client Development

  • Establish the firm as a go to partner for interim CFO solutions across the East Coast
  • Penetrate key accounts within private equity and develop multi touch relationships with operating partners, deal teams, and portfolio leadership
  • Develop tailored go to market strategies targeting high growth, sponsor backed companies requiring agile finance leadership

Practice Build Out and Infrastructure

  • Launch and scale the Interim Solutions offering for the CFO practice from the ground up
  • Define operating model, pricing strategy, and engagement structures for interim mandates
  • Build and lead a high performing team over time, including sales and delivery resources aligned to the CFO vertical
  • Implement KPIs, performance metrics, and scalable processes to support long term growth

Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of experience selling interim or project based solutions within the Office of the CFO
  • Strong track record of originating and delivering interim CFO and senior finance mandates, ideally within private equity backed environments
  • Deep understanding of sponsor driven value creation cycles and the role of interim leadership in accelerating outcomes
  • Proven ability to build and scale a book of business in a high performance, client facing role
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate as a sole contributor initially and build a team over time
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage CFOs, CEOs, and private equity stakeholders
  • Based in Greater New York or New England
