Lead AI Engineer
Company: CoPilot Innovations Location: Remote Experience: 5+ years in AI/ML engineering, including 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers. CoPilot Innovations, a subsidiary of The Plumtree Group, is looking for an AI Engineering Lead to act as the technical authority across our engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build production-ready AI systems while coaching engineers, reviewing architectures, and setting strong engineering standards internally as well as across client accounts. This is a client-facing leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building teams, shaping solutions, and staying close to emerging Al capabilities. What You’ll Do: Leading and developing a high-performing Al engineering team while setting engineering standards across multiple client engagements Translating complex Al concepts into clear, practical direction for business and technical audiences Architecting and delivering production-grade end-to-end Al solutions (ML + newer generative/agent-based approaches) Acting as a trusted advisor in shaping Al roadmaps, solution design, and delivery approaches Define best practices for AI-first software development, cloud deployment, and engineering quality What We’re Looking For: Strong hands-on experience with Python, LLM applications, RAG, agentic workflows, and AI microservices Experience with tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP Understanding of MLOps/LLMOps, CI/CD, AI observability, latency, cost, and performance optimization Proven experience mentoring or leading engineering teams Strong communication skills and the ability to explain AI trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building advanced AI systems while raising the technical standard of an entire engineering team.
