What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Analyze and resolve insurance claim denials for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplies
- Generate effective written appeals to carriers using well-researched logic
- Ensure billing and coding accuracy prior to submitting appeals or reconsiderations
- Identify trends and patterns in denials to proactively resolve recurring issues
- Collaborate with team members and management on coding and billing challenges
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Minimum three years of experience in DME billing and coding
- Experience with collections of insurance claims
- Background in Medicare and/or Medicaid
- Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) processes
- High school diploma or GED required
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- EDI transmission experience is preferred
- Strong research and analytical skills with critical thinking abilities
- Familiarity with coding and medical terminology
