Online Adjunct Instructor
TITLE: Online Adjunct Instructor (Pool) DEPARTMENT: Kentucky State University Online REPORTS TO: Faculty Mentor and Director of Online Education - KYSU Online EFFECTIVE DATE: February 2024 EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Exempt PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Adjunct Instructor, with a minimum qualification of a Master's Degree (minimum 18 credit hours in the appropriate course subject) from an accredited institution, and commitment to teaching online in a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Teaching courses online as defined by the KYSU Online Faculty Manuel. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Duties including but not limited to teaching eight-week online courses.
- Maintain grade and attendance records.
- Attendance at adjunct faculty meetings as scheduled.
- Learn and correctly apply KYSU Online policies and procedures.
- Participate in the adjunct faculty evaluation process.
- Maintain regular and substantive interaction with online students.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must submit a letter of application including graduate transcript(s), curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Master's Degree or higher in the teaching subject, online teaching experience, and/or online teaching certification preferred.
