Senior Medical Animator

INTERVOKE IS LOOKING FOR TOP TALENT Freelance Senior Medical Animator / 3D Generalist Remote, Project-Based Contractor Intervoke is looking for a talented Freelance Senior Medical Animator / 3D Generalist to support upcoming medical animation and scientific visualization projects on a remote, project-based basis. Medical animation experience is preferred, but we are also open to highly skilled 3D generalists who demonstrate advanced technical ability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to create beautiful, realistic organic 3D art with cinematic quality. Intervoke is a digital education and medical visualization studio specializing in complex scientific 3D animations, detailed anatomical models, interactive healthcare education software, and immersive content for biotech, pharmaceutical, museum, university, healthcare, and medical device clients. Applicants must provide a demo reel and/or portfolio examples. A brief breakdown sheet is strongly preferred and should explain your role, software used, and specific contributions for each featured project. Ideal candidates should have most of the following skills and experience: 3D Animation & Production

• 7+ years of professional 3D animation experience in a production environment
• Strong experience with 3ds Max, Maya, ZBrush, V-Ray, Redshift, After Effects, and Photoshop (or comparable)
• Generalist: Ability to create high-quality 3D models, animations, lighting, textures, render passes, and final composited shots
• Experience creating realistic organic forms, anatomy, and scientific subject matter and ability to build accurate models and environments from reference materials
• Solid understanding of lighting, camera movement, particle systems, render passes, AOVs, and compositing workflows
• Advanced lighting, texturing, and photoreal rendering experience; Redshift experience preferred
• Strong sense of cinematic timing, smooth animation, pacing, and visual rhythm
• Experience with particle simulations, X-Particles experience a plus
• Experience using third-party tools to bring PDB or molecular models into 3D applications is a plus

Medical & Scientific Visualization

• Medical animation experience preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy, cellular biology, molecular biology, surgical procedures, or medical device visualization is a plus
• Experience producing accurate molecular, anatomical, or procedural visuals is a plus

2D, Motion Graphics & Compositing

• Strong design sensibility and understanding of current motion design trends
• 5 to 7 years of experience with Adobe After Effects and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
• Ability to create motion graphics, title sequences, data visualization, on-screen text, labels, and callouts
• Strong compositing skills, including multi-pass rendering and AOV workflows

Additional Skills

• UV unwrapping and texture editing
• Character rigging and animation experience
• Unity, Unreal Engine, VR, or AR workflow experience is a plus
• Strong communication, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with Intervoke’s creative and scientific production team
• Commitment to continually improving technical skills and visual quality

Freelance Position Details

• Remote, project-based contractor role
• Work is assigned based on project needs, availability, experience, and fit
• Candidate should be comfortable working under project timelines, milestone reviews, and written creative/scientific direction
• NDA and contractor agreement may be required before project materials are shared
