Senior Platform Engineer

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a large broadcast media client to collaborate closely with developers to design, build, and optimise custom tooling tailored to our internal platform to roll out, test and optimise a new suite of services built from open-source components. This opportunity is fully remote. Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more. What you'll be doing: Collaborate closely with developers to design, build, and optimise custom tooling tailored to our internal platform to roll out, test and optimise a new suite of services built from open-source components. Plan and phase work in alignment with team goals and broader engineering timelines. Participate in regular planning meetings, providing technical guidance and ensuring progress aligns with platform standards. Ensure secure design and implementation practices when working with systems handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Liaise with permanent members of staff to ensure that services follow (or extend) existing guardrails and patterns. What you'll bring: Platform development: Must have had exposure to building internal tools/frameworks. Language proficiency: Python, Go, or similar for automation and tooling development. Infrastructure as Code: Advanced Terraform, not just basic resource creation. Production EKS experience: Not just basic Kubernetes - must have built and operated production EKS clusters.
