Trial Department Assistant

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP is an established real estate law firm with offices across California, seeking a Trial Department Assistant for their Concord office. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely production of all pre-trial and post-trial documents in the trial phase of the unlawful detainer process.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain communication with attorneys regarding upcoming court cases
  • Respond to client inquiries via phone and email
  • Make calls to court for processing trial matters
  • Request trial dates and prepare files for trial
  • Perform E-filing, paper filing, and additional administrative duties as needed by the department
  • Update ProLaw and complete events following trial
  • Follow up with clients regarding stipulation compliance
  • Bill files, sort and distribute mail, and perform other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Previous administrative office experience, ideally in a law firm
  • Experience with e-filing
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and complete work in a timely and efficient manner
  • Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute
  • Formal legal training and/or trial experience
  • Essential Forms, ProLaw, and Pacer efficiency
  • Knowledge of unlawful detainers and local county court rules and procedures
