VP Credit Policy
Foundation is seeking a strong candidate for the role of Vice President of Credit Policy. This individual will oversee our Exception and Scenario Desks and play a critical role in improving consistency, communication, and turn times surrounding exception requests. The position will also help structure complex loan scenarios and serve as the primary problem solver for challenging transactions. Key responsibilities include
- Acting as the escalation point for complex underwriting, guideline, and eligibility questions
- Partnering with underwriting, capital markets, and sales leadership to develop workable lending solutions
- Reviewing and evaluating exception requests while balancing credit risk and production objectives
- Helping drive consistency in credit decisions, overlays, and policy interpretation across the organization
- Overseeing credit-related operations and functions within the NonQM platform
- Supporting sales teams with structuring difficult NonQM transactions and identifying viable execution strategies
Ideal candidates should possess
- Minimum 3 years of experience overseeing credit-related operations and functions within NonQM lending is a must
- Strong knowledge of NonQM guidelines and loan structuring
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to balance risk management with a solutions-oriented approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, underwriting, and secondary/capital markets teams
Experience in underwriting, scenario desk management, secondary/capital markets, or credit policy review is highly preferred.
