Learning Facilitator - Science

This is a remote position. Position: Learning Facilitator - Science Timings: 10AM-11AM EST Location: Remote/Pakistan Job Type: Part-time/Full-time Purpose: Ummah Center High School is seeking a knowledgeable, student-centered Science Learning Facilitator to support students in our innovative, self-paced learning environment. Students complete their science coursework using high-quality online learning platforms that include instructional videos, interactive lessons, virtual and physical labs, practice exercises, and assessments. The Science Learning Facilitator serves as an academic coach and mentor, ensuring students remain on track, receive timely support when needed, and successfully master high school Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Rather than delivering daily classroom lectures, the Science Learning Facilitator works closely with individual students and small groups, providing intervention, answering questions, monitoring progress, communicating with families, and helping students achieve academic success. Key Responsibilities: Student Academic Support ● Be readily available daily between 10:00-11:00 am Eastern Standard Time to answer student questions and provide academic assistance in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. ● Provide one-on-one and small-group intervention for students who need additional support. ● Explain scientific concepts using different approaches to meet individual learning styles. ● Help students connect scientific principles to real-world applications. ● Encourage students to become independent, confident learners. ● Monitor each student's academic progress on a daily and weekly basis using the school's online learning systems. ● Identify students who are falling behind or struggling with specific concepts. ● Update grades and progress reports within the school's learning management systems. Other responsibilities: ● Coordinate with an in-class coach to organize and supervise hands-on laboratory activities and demonstrations that complement the online curriculum. ● Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, academic concerns, and areas requiring additional support. ● Participate in parent-teacher conferences and student progress meetings. ● Collaborate with school administration to ensure students receive timely academic interventions. ● Analyze student performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas requiring intervention. ● Use available reports from the online learning platforms to help guide student support. Qualifications (Must Have): ● Bachelor's degree in Science-related field. ● Minimum 5 years of experience teaching high school science. ● Strong knowledge of one or more of the following subjects: ○ Biology ○ Chemistry ○ Physics ● The ability to teach across multiple science disciplines is highly desirable. ● Strong understanding of high school science curricula and instructional best practices. ● Excellent communication and presentation skills. Qualifications (Preferred): ● Experience teaching multiple science subjects across different grade levels. ● Previous online or remote teaching experience. ● Experience with virtual learning platforms and digital classroom tools. ● Experience teaching advanced or college-preparatory science courses. Commitment Requirement: ● Must be available for the full 10-month school year to ensure consistency and stability for students. ● Ability to maintain regular availability and responsiveness in a remote learning environment.
