Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Teleport is a company focused on simplifying trusted computing for engineers. They are seeking an Accountant to join their Finance team, responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and corporate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical accounting functions such as recording, reconciling and analyzing G/L account transactions
• Assist the Accounting team in the preparation of month end close journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis (for example: accrued expenses, fixed assets, prepaids, deferred revenues, payroll, intercompany, etc.)
• Review customer contracts to ensure accurate billing, revenue, etc
• Assist with Accounts Payable to review, code, and process vendor invoices
• Review compensation and commissions to ensure accuracy
• Cross train with other accountants to serve as backup
• Assist with tax filings and audits including addressing PBCs requests
• Assist with and/or complete ad hoc projects as requested (e.g. documentation, development projects, system implementations, etc.)
• Build and leverage cross-functional relationships within the company to more effectively bring value to Accounting and other internal teams
• Learn how to operate all types of accounting operations of a medium sized startup

Skills

• Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of accounting experience in a similar position
• Experience in GL, account receivables, accounts payable, tax, and payroll
• Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work products
• Open minded, looking to create efficiencies and eager to learn
• Quickbooks and SaasOptics/Maxio experience is a plus
• Previous work experience in the SaaS industry
• Understanding and experience working with financial statements audits
