Remote · Brazil Full-time

About Huntington Learning Center – A Legacy of Student Success Founded in 1977, Huntington Learning Center has grown into one of the nation’s most respected names in private tutoring, test preparation, and academic enrichment. With over 400 centers across the United States and a proven track record of boosting student confidence, GPA, and standardized‑test scores, Huntington is more than a tutoring service – it’s a community of educators dedicated to turning potential into performance. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to give every student the personalized support they need to thrive academically and personally. We achieve this through research‑based instructional programs, continuous professional development for our staff, and a culture that celebrates learning, curiosity, and collaborative growth. As we expand our footprint in the Chicago metropolitan area, we are seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and caring mathematics educators to join our remote, part‑time team and make a direct impact on young learners in the Calumet City, Illinois region. Position Snapshot – What You’ll Do This role is a remote, part‑time daytime tutoring position designed specifically for qualified K‑12 mathematics professionals who want to share their expertise without the full‑time classroom commitment. You will work Monday through Friday, between 9 am and 3 pm, supporting middle‑school students (grades 6‑8) in a small‑group setting within public schools that partner with Huntington. Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted math instruction aligned with state standards and Huntington’s proven curriculum, focusing on concepts such as fractions, decimals, pre‑algebra, geometry, and problem‑solving strategies.
  • Facilitate engaging, interactive lessons that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and confidence building among students.
  • Assess student progress through informal observations, diagnostic quizzes, and real‑time feedback, adjusting instructional approaches as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and a growth mindset.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and Huntington coordinators about student achievements, challenges, and next steps, ensuring a transparent partnership.
  • Participate in scheduled paid training sessions and ongoing professional development webinars to stay current on best practices, technology tools, and curriculum updates.
  • Adhere to all safety, confidentiality, and compliance standards required by Huntington and the partnering public schools.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • Education: A minimum of a four‑year degree in Mathematics, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching middle‑school mathematics (grades 6‑8) is preferred, though recent graduates and retired educators are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Certification (Optional but Advantageous): Valid teaching certification or licensure in Illinois or another state. While not mandatory, it demonstrates a commitment to professional standards.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using virtual classroom platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet), learning management systems, and basic productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for explaining complex mathematical concepts in clear, relatable language.
  • Availability: Able to commit to a minimum of 2–5 days per week during the 9 am–3 pm window, with flexibility to adjust based on school schedules.
  • Professionalism: Punctual, reliable, and able to adhere to Huntington’s policies regarding student safety, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications – Nice‑to‑Have Add‑Ons

  • Familiarity with standardized test preparation (e.g., PSAT, SAT, ACT, state assessments).
  • Background in using adaptive learning technologies or educational apps.
