Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Advanced Tech Placement is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer - API to design, develop, and maintain digital technology infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features and improve existing platforms, ensuring high performance and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Leads the application of internal software deployment platform, continuous integration or continuous delivery pipeline, and twelve-factor development methodology to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases
• Partners with cross-functional teams of product managers, designers, and other engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
• Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software, applying test-driven development as needed
• Recommends options for improving the software development and deployment processes and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability
• Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes, and system configurations
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution

Skills

• Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience, typically reflecting 5-7 years or more of relevant experience
• Experience with API management platforms such as Kong, Layer7, Google Apigee, or equivalent technologies
• Strong understanding of API gateway architecture, traffic management, security, etc
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
• Knowledge of API performance monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Proven experience with API management platforms like Kong, Broadcom Layer7, Google Apigee, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of API gateway architecture, traffic management, rate limiting, and security policies
• Expertise in API lifecycle management, including design, publishing, versioning, and retirement
• Hands-on experience with authentication and authorization standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect)
• Proficiency in automation and scripting for API deployment and configuration (Python, Shell, Ansible)
• Familiarity with CI/CD integration and DevOps practices for API platforms
• Knowledge of monitoring and analytics for API performance and usage (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
• Exposure to cloud-native API solutions and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to lead complex API platform initiatives
