They are seeking a Social Media News Producer to identify, verify, and produce engaging content across various social platforms while maintaining journalistic integrity.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pitch timely, under-covered stories aligned with the News Not Noise mission
• Produce short-form videos and carousels from concept to publication
• Turn complex political, legal, economic, and cultural stories into clear, compelling content
• Monitor the news cycle and make fast, sound editorial decisions
• Write platform-native copy in the NNN voice—clear, accurate, and never sensational
• Source visuals, video, and graphics to create complete content packages
• Manage day-to-day publishing across platforms and adapt to evolving algorithms and audience behavior
• Optimize titles, thumbnails, hooks, captions, and posting strategies to maximize reach and engagement
• Collaborate with editors, designers, and producers to keep content moving

Skills

• 5+ years in journalism, social video, explanatory media, documentary, or related editorial work
• Experience managing or programming social channels, including publishing strategy, content packaging, and content optimization
• Deep experience producing and editing short-form video for social platforms
• Strong fact-checking instincts and a genuine commitment to accuracy
• Fluency with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts — you understand the formats, the cultures, and the algorithms
• Comfort with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar production tools
• A real, sustained interest in politics, public affairs, and current events
• Organized, collaborative, and responsive — you can manage multiple deadlines without losing your mind or your standards
• Experience working with talent, creators, or founder-led brands
• Familiarity with Substack, analytics tools, or audience development strategy
• Demonstrated success growing audience engagement through accurate, trustworthy journalism rather than sensational or clickbait content
