Sales Development Representative (SDR) (Contract to Hire)

Where this work has traditionally meant analysts manually consolidating utility bills every month, Nectar automates the entire process — giving teams a centralized, reliable source of truth for their energy usage and spend. We've grown consistently over the past half year, the market is a blue ocean, and we've built the best product in the category. About the role As the first dedicated SDR, you will work directly with the founders and own the top of the funnel — breaking into target accounts and booking qualified meetings. This role is for ambitious and hungry SDRs who have what it takes to become a powerhouse. We’re looking to move fast and bring someone on ASAP with high ownership and the ability to adapt and grow extremely quickly. We reward positive performance aggressively. As the first SDR, you'll have high-growth learning opportunities and develop deep expertise in a fast-moving technical market. We're hiring on a contract basis to start, with strong potential to grow into a full-time, founding role.

  • First week: Start cold calling and onboarding onto the product / technical domain (utility management)
  • First month: Book 3-5 qualified meetings per week, working closely with the founders.
  • Beyond: Own a multi-channel outbound engine, refine the playbook. Path to senior and management level role.

Qualifications

  • (Preferred) SDR / BDR experience at a SaaS company in a technical or complex domain
  • Familiarity with AI tools incl. Claude
  • Relentless outbound work ethic and comfort with high-volume cold calling
  • Writing and communication skills
  • Intuitive understanding of users + product
  • Ability to onboard quickly into a technical field (utility and energy management)
  • Ability to operate without a set playbook
