Scrum Master - Retail

Overview

The Cotiviti Retail division are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead and support Agile delivery across Retail development teams and initiatives. This role partners closely with product owners, developers, and senior stakeholders to remove impediments, facilitate effective Scrum practices, and drive consistent, high‑quality delivery at scale. Responsibilities

  • Facilitating Agile ceremonies: The Scrum Master facilitates the various Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives. They ensure that these meetings are conducted effectively and that the team members actively participate.
  • Coach and mentor the team: The Scrum Master acts as a coach and mentor to the development teams, helping them understand and apply the SAFe principles and practices. They also help the teams identify and resolve any obstacles or impediments that may affect their productivity.
  • Enable collaboration and communication: The Scrum Master promotes collaboration and communication within the development teams and between the teams and stakeholders. They encourage the use of visual boards, tools, and techniques that enhance transparency and improve communication.
  • Support product owners: The Scrum Master supports the product owners in creating and prioritizing the product backlog. They work closely with the product owners to ensure that the backlog items are well-defined, estimated, and ready for development.
  • Continuous improvement: The Scrum Master drives continuous improvement within the organization by identifying areas of improvement and implementing changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Agile processes. They conduct regular retrospectives to gather feedback from the teams and stakeholders and implement actions to address any issues or concerns.
  • Facilitate Scrum teams’ self-organization: The Scrum Master helps the Scrum teams to become self-organized and high-performing. They promote autonomy and empower the teams to make decisions and take ownership of their work.
  • Ensure SAFe compliance: The Scrum Master ensures that the organization is adhering to the SAFe framework and principles. They work with other Scrum Masters and Agile coaches to establish and maintain SAFe practices and standards across the organization.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or similar degree or equivalent.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or immediate plans to become certified.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the SAFe framework and Agile methodologies.
  • Certification in SAFe, such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC).
  • 5+ years of experience leading Agile Scrum teams or Project Management at the enterprise level.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities.

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically and evaluate information objectively, considering different perspectives and potential implications before drawing conclusions or making recommendations.
  • Attention to Detail: must have a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Strong numerical skills are essential for conducting quantitative analysis, working with statistical methods and models, and manipulating data using mathematical operations.
  • Data Interpretation: skilled in interpreting data visualizations, charts, graphs, and other forms of data presentation to extract meaningful insights and communicate findings effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are crucial for conveying complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders clearly and understandably through written reports, presentations, and verbal discussions.
  • Curiosity and Learning Agility: A strong desire to learn and explore new methodologies, techniques, and tools in the field of data analysis and insights generation is essential for staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Resilience: The ability to handle pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and overcome setbacks is important in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous analytical environment.
  • Ethical and Integrity: Upholding ethical standards and maintaining integrity in handling sensitive data and information is paramount for building trust and credibility in the insights provided.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $96,000 to $126,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
