DSPolitical is a digital media agency that integrates data and technology to deliver effective digital advertising campaigns for Democratic and progressive candidates. The Senior Data Engineer will develop and maintain the reporting stack, manage data services, and ensure scalable solutions for data operations.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements system architectures for a growing reporting platform and other data services
• Maintains our reporting pipelines and other automations
• Builds internal and external dashboards and analytics views
• Maintains Redshift instance and associated web services for operational use in our web applications
• Provides guidance on how to effectively use our data for both analytics and operations, working with other departments to understand their needs and design solutions

Skills

• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering
• Strong commitment to collaboration and mentorship
• Expertise in SQL
• Expertise in database design and performance issues
• Experience in a scripting language like Python or Node
• Strong understanding of the nuances of running production services including observability and alerting
• Strong commitment to understanding business needs and translating those into technical systems
• Strong experience working in a highly collaborative environment
• Ability to effectively organize technical work in collaboration with other stakeholders
• Experience working in Snowflake and AWS
• Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau
